I am looking at renewing my insurance, and have figures fluctuating from £133 with some company I have never heard of to £324 with Chubb (both fully comp, but differences in the detail of cover as always). Garaged and 1000 miles a year.

Interested to hear what others are paying and with whom + any recommendations Smile

I'm around the £180 this year, full comp with 5,000 miles. Garaged but that added £10! I think it's Hastings.

I was with Adrian Flux for a few years but they slowly put there prices up and the daily Skoda was very expensive last year so I changed both. The Skoda has gone to Tesco.

Jk

I have a fleet policy with Chubb and they are first class - more expensive but with better cover - last year my Ford Mustang’s leather interior was attacked by mice while I was storing the car over the winter causing £4500 damage. Chubb met the claim easily in full and did not charge the £750 excess I have as I did not require a hire-car. I can recommend Chubb. Also at renewal policy did not increase over inflation.

I also have similar policy - but I have a few cars (like the defender) which I am wondering if they really belong on it - but you are absolutely right - the chubb service is second to none.

A case I witnessed first hand when I had a car in a main dealer for servicing which was flooded, and their insurance wouldn't cover it as an act of god :-0

The insurer I was with - who I now refer to as 'less than' took 3 months to agree to pay out. On the night of the flooding I got a call from Chubb out of the blue to make sure I was ok - as they had an assessor coming out the next morning to people in the area who had been flooded - fortunately we live on a hill - but my mind was made up - no more 'less than' for me on high value items.

I'm with Adrian Flux, but tempted to try someone else next year. This year they've put the price up to £500, and I've had quotes for £300 odd from other companies.

It's on an Agreed Value Policy, but they say it's worth £17,000, and I reckon it's worth a little bit more these days. They won't budge on the valuation, so I wonder if its really worth paying the extra to be with them on an Agreed Value Policy.

Mine lives on the driveway and does 5,000 miles a year.

My Daily Driver is with Hastings, and before that Admiral, and didn't have problems with them.

i changed from Adrian Flux for the exact same reason. Similar miles and kept on the driveway.

Supposed to be a specialist (give a discount for club membership) but not competitive in anyway. Never had to claim so cannot say if the service they provide after is worth the extra.

I was with Lancaster for quite a few years, however they changed the underwriters which was no longer giving out no claims discounts (classic car insurance) at that time I was paying £150 pa with a very low valuation. I moved to AA insurance costing £300 with full breakdown, plus other benefits and agreed value of £35,000 (off road parking).
