The below will be interesting to see the price depending on what the guys at Classic Works have done to it?!

well, for starters they didn't:

1) fix sagging headlining
2) re-affix rear mudflaps
3) Put the correct rear exhaust section on ( I think its wrong)

Or the spare wheel, the V8 decal on the driver’s side front wing or remove the dent on the other wing by the decal. For that price I would be looking for much more detail.

Personally I am delighted that LR are now in the game of preparing (to a standard) and selling the 50th with its price tag of 60k.

They have created another benchmark with the added weight of declaring: ‘Making it a very rare and desirable product’.

I think that is good news for all 50th owners.

Well done LR!

I suspect ex Japan market as Japan Rover sticker o/s rear under window gives the game away, other clues include RHD, km/hr, tow hitch, sidesteps etc. Must bring a smile for those that own ex Japanese market 50ths.

Blimey - wonder what JLR would charge for a properly restored GB vehicle.
another £10K?

If both restored to same standard why would there be any major difference in pricing?

Looking at it I don't think it has been restored at all. It is a very low mileage ex Japan 50th, obviously had some paintwork along with extensive detailing & preparation but is probably largely original. Wheels, arches, side steps, exhaust, etc. are all correct for a Japan Spec 50th.

I assume they are working on the basis that an original low miles 50th is worth more than a restoration. Japan 50ths benefit from having lived in a much better climate so not really surprising its a 50th badged one they've chosen, it's hard to find a GB 50th in that kind of original condition.

They are certainly pushing the upper limits of pricing to new levels with that asking price and with a LR specialist dealer down the road from them stocking 50ths pretty much all the time at half that asking price they'll need to find someone who finds significant value add from JLR Classic preparation, but good luck to them. Let's face it if they drag the value of our 50ths up even further it helps to justify keeping them in top condition with the knowledge any money spent is more than recouped at sale time. Won't stop me using mine every day as a work horse no matter what it ends up being worth

Another Japan 50th for £60k are dealers trying their luck or does the special addition either GB or JP make it desirable?

"Each one came with a numbered commemorative plaque on the rear right hand side, making it a very rare and desirable product aimed at the wealthy lifestyle market." as JLR state

Both have a reputation for selling quality products and helps the second hand value for all of us.

I would expect the GB ones to be more highly prized than the JP ones. That's based on an assumption that the biggest market for RHD 50ths is the UK.

Great to see Land Rover themselves putting a value to the 50th model. How long it remains in their 'collection' will be telling.
