G’day Bruce,
UK spec didn’t have a clock, not sure if Jap did, probably not. Lots have fitted one though. Is yours a square type one in the middle? Older defender part.

Mine is a Jap - it is a square analogue clock.
Some of the photos of UK ones for sale have had a clock added?
