You do make me laugh the way you see the "UK Genuine" as somehow superior to the "Japs", they are all Genuine 50ths.....
Prices in the classic car market generally are all over the place and 50ths are no different there are some realistically priced ones for sale and a few chancers hoping to cash in on the best Defenders. One dealer up north has two 50ths up at asking prices around £50K, which does seem to be too much for most buyers. Looking at the ones that are actually selling rather than the ones that seem to hang around it seems the £30-40,000 range is where buyers are comfortable for good condition 50ths
A "UK Genuine" 50th on eBay didn't make reserve over the weekend, it was GB303 highest bid was only £18,200. Being sold by Nene which may have put some people off but body corrosion didn't look too bad in the pictures and had some Overfinch tweaks so even as 50th in need of some work it was probably worth a bit more than the highest bid really. |
