Land Rover Defender 50th Anniversary GB 227 Overfinch 570Hsi

Having owned GB 227 for over 3 years its time to let her go, its been quietly tucked up and i have loved owning it. These full 5.7 litre Overfinch conversions are quite rare in a defender as most went into Range Rovers.
GB 227 is a one previous owner car with 48k miles but also has a host of upgrades. I have a extensive history folder with invoices for work done on this car and with the purchase price your looking at over 115,000 spent. The car covered 24,000 miles on its original engine and a further 24,000 on its new 5.7 Overfinch engine.

MOT is valid till 28/8/2019 and has no advisories.

Very comfortable car to drive with the SVX Recaro seats. The vehicle benefits from heated seats, heated screen, remote central locking, electric windows, twin long range fuel tanks and upgraded sound system. Excellent handling with the upgraded suspension and upgraded brakes. The Overfinch is quick and loud but that is what makes it fun.

The history folder has all the invoices, old MOT certificates and servicing invoices but without listing it all the following is the main history:

Jan 1999 Car purchased

Feb 1999 Went to Overfinch for upgrades such as chip, gears, suspension, steering with standard engine 7,845

Jan 2001 Frog island installed twin batteries, ARB lockers, extra 12v plugs, diff guards, service 9,862

April 2003 Back to Overfinch for full 570Hsi engine conversion costing 19,751. Mileage was 24,000 at time of conversion.

November 2006 went to specialist Burys Bridge garage for new 2006 spec dash, new spec doors all round, twin front shocks, upgraded dampers and anti roll bars, Ultima 380mm six pot front brakes. They went through the car and tidied and fixed everything using genuine parts. Costing 21,202

November 2009 Frog island for upgraded auto box, service etc 3,523

December 2009 frog island heated SVX seats supplied 4,829, fitting of seats, forward facing rear seats, wiring and SVX lights 3,544

Full custom made stainless steel exhaust

April 2015 IAWA 4x4 new Bilstein B6 shocks, leather door cards, new headlining and black carpets 2,937

July 2015 I purchased the car

March 2016 Overfinch 18 Apollo Wheels and avon ranger tyres fitted 2,422

May 2016 Revolution vehicles for service, JE engineering -1 springs, new rear brakes, Evans waterless coolant, new take guard 2,150

Nov 2016 Revolution vehicles for new exhaust end to original spec, calibrate speedo, on road tuning with laptop 1,223

July 2017 New fuel pump then drivability and performance tuning 1,119

A couple of invoices are missing for things like the custom exhaust and panoramic windows.

I'm a true enthusiast and the vehicle has wanted for nothing. Its very presentable but could benefit from a re spray to make it perfect. The price advertised reflects the need for a respray but i'm leaving it to the new owner to decide what they want to do.

Includes S1 OVerFinch plate.

The price for this wonderful Overfinch 50th is 39,995

Viewing can be arranged by calling me, James on 07790 837875.
No test drives without proof of insurance and agreement to purchase subject to test drive.

Hi Looks amzing, I am afraid as much as I would love it I think working on the farm would kill it !!

One quick question if you dont mind, I have been thinking about fitting recaros to mine but assumed they wouldnt fit due to the internal roll cage, did you manage to get them to fit with it still in place ?

Thanks

Hi,
A terrific car but beyond my means and it certainly wouldn't get through the approval process from the other half. But I'm afraid I have another question about the spec. My only (to be honest, pretty minor) bugbear with my 50th is the frequent stops for petrol and I've been trying to find a way to fit more tank capacity. So it would be really useful to understand what installing twin long range tanks involves. Thanks!
