It's 50th-071, ex Japan been up for sale since the start of the year.

Not everyones taste, but I saw it at an auction a couple of years ago and I do like it, not sure I like it 30k worth but it'd certainly be fun with the roof off now the weather's improving.

I really don't see the point. The value of the 50th is that it's a 50th. Not some Frankenstein monster cobbled together.

If you want a 4.0 Auto soft top then a Jeep Wrangler was purpose built for the job and costs about 15% of a 50th. Now that makes sense, even without a V8.

I think it is fair to say that everyones tastes are very different and the value each individual sees in their 50th may not just be financial. Some people will value the originality of a 50th and the financial rewards of its classic status, some see it as a basis to produce a car that suits their needs. Whoever owned that one or now buys it will I suspect do so as it suits their personal taste.

My own 50th is extensively modified and any financial implication resulting from the way I have personalized it are irrelevant to me, I didn't buy that 50th as an investment I bought it to use it.

I have owned a few Wranglers in the past when I was in Dubai and like the Defender they are great in their way. With the aftermarket support for Jeeps in the USA Wranglers have even greater scope to be personalized than the Defender.
