Right, it's that time of the year
SLSLRC London 2 Brighton Land Rover Run is set for Sunday 2nd October 2016
I'm defo going as usual with GB 135, Nick with GB 268 will be joining for 1st time and I know from past posts that quite a few others are as well
Meet up venue is the usual
9:30 meet at Pease Pottage Services, M23 South, lets have another Blue Atlantis gravy train thundering down the M23 to Madeira Drive
Those who play by the rules can apply for their entry pass, plaque etc £ 35 per car irrespective of passenger count, from the SLSLRC website
I will be heading the rebels and presenting ourselves at the entry gate waving cash at Brian, who will moan as usual, but always lets us in, though likely to be an additional £ 5 as a "fine"
Mrs Victor will supply the annual hot bacon rolls dripping with melting butter, and low fat tomato and brown sauce, usual class act - at PP, first come, first served, ample but limited supply
GB 135 looking forward to his annual bath and polish, see you at the services, let's see if we can beat my record of 17 together from a couple of years ago _________________ Peter

You should go to Hook, they want you to go to Hook, it all happens at Hook,
you can go there and get your entry and plaque and then start from where you like, like PP, or you can go there Sat night and camp or go there Sunday and do the run
Or like me, I go to PP Services, gang up and convoy to Brighton, turn up at the entry gate, listen to lots of tut tuts from Brian, who can't resist notes being waved in his face, he will let us in, he always does
If he refuses, he has a problem of the congestion of the roundabout stuffed with loads of LRs whilst he tries to turn us around, it wan't happen, we will get in we always have done last 10 years of bending the rules, trust me I'm a retired Insurance Broker
In the afternoon, all the gear, 2016 t-shirts, plaques etc arrive from Hook which you can buy from SLSLRC stall _________________ Peter

Ah good point, I hadn't read the full FAQ when I replied to this....
"Goody bags / t-shirts / plaques can only be collected from the registration tent at our start venue, Hook Road Arena "
So I will aim to get to Hook at the Start early morning. Adam, I can meet you in the venue on Sunday morning, if you are still camping Saturday night. Probably get there for 6.30ish for registration. _________________ ex-GB343 5.0L JE Supersports

That's right Aaron, if you go to Hook and pay, you get a doggy bag of mags, leaflets etc plus 2016 t-shirt & plaque - You affix the plaque to motor which acts as a visual entry ticket and will be waived through onto Madeira Drive.
Just as you do, a photographer will snap your Landy - make a note of the time, it will save you a lot of searching later on their website ...
The rogues will pay the same as you but won't get a shirt or plaque but trust me, they will be there in the afternoon, so that the wife or whoever can get one as well
Noi point in them leaving them in Hook, what use are they a week later ?, its scaremongering trying to get us to Hook - but I resist
You can buy the shirt in Brighton for about £ 8 and a fiver for the plaque, I have got a consecutive set of 12 and have never been to Hook or the original start point (pre LEZ) of Crystal Palace _________________ Peter

Aaron and Adam
What I did a couple of years ago was to go to Hook on the Saturday and pick up my Goody Bag but started the run on the Sunday from Pease Pottage with all the other 50ths. An impressive sight bowling down the road.
But they do have goodies at Brighton. I exchanged my T-shirt at Brighton as they had given me a small one - and small I aint!!
Peter, I had hoped to be there this year but wife had a cataract op yesterday and, apparently, I need to muck out the stables for the next 3 weeks.

Really nice to meet some of you guys today at Pease Pottage. Sadly had to peel off a mile out with a boiling radiator, but got there eventually! Hope to make it in one go next year..... |

We were a crew of 6 at Pease Pottage Services M23, no bacon butties, caught a lonely stranger on motorway, E15 DEF who joined us on Madeira Drive
Didn't get his GB No, bugger, that would have been another to join the languishing schedule of traced ones waiting patiently to join the main list called The Register ....
Good day, sun shone, no where near the record of 17 @ PP Svcs a few years ago
Getting access without having to go to Hook was a doddle, SLSLRC's Brian at the gate expects us rebels annually
and then paid £ 2 for a 2016 plaque, balance that with the fuel cost going to Hook
No flies on GB135 _________________ Peter
