The French chap should buy F010 if it's still for sale, 1300km from new, looks like new!
How's the sale of GB165 going? Have you had anyone view it yet? _________________ James

Hi James
Plenty of interest and two very good offers on the table so far, a couple of viewings booked in this week and one very very keen chap ( previously owned a 50 ) coming back for a second view..
I would say that if the offers on the table presently are anything to go by then achieving my asking price won't be an issue at all. I will know fairly shortly and will of corse let everyone know.
My vehicle aside I have to say I'm quite shocked at some peoples attitude towards pricing, I understand that 50's have been sold for not a lot of money in the past but if you look at some of the " specialist limited editions " from the likes of kahn, twisted, urban truck, Chelsea tractor co etc etc ( the list is endless ) then you'll see supercar money being asked for what is essentially a painted pig bog standard production vehicle with a load of accessories thrown at it..
I think the 50th community, most of which are here on this forum need to wake up a bit and realise the only ones controlling the prices are ourselves! owning a 50 isn't about the money but if you guys don't value the rarity of what was the most radical factory limited edition defender ever produced ( over 2 million of which ONLY 380 were UK spec 50's ) then the only ones loosing out are you.
I fully expect to reach my asking price and my personal opinion is that they will go a lot higher! the only thing that will slow down the appreciation is negative comments from current owners on sale adverts but trust me it won't change the fact that values on 50's are only going to go up. _________________ im allways in the muck... its just the depth that differs..

Hi Jim,
That would be great news if you can achieve your asking price.
50th's should be worth millions but like everything it's all about what people will pay, if there are buyers out there willing to pay your asking price then that's great news, especially as GB002 should be worth more _________________ James

Jim I couldn't agree more If people want to sell their 50ths cheap thats up to them, but when you look at the market for Defenders and the limited numbers of 50ths they should be selling for over £50k (Restored). _________________ GB 328

Jim, if you don't mind, I'm sure we're all dying to know what it went for! I appreciate you may not want to divulge, but it's always interesting to see what the latest values are. _________________ Barry

This is a massive contradiction considering you offered £12k for my GB242 |

Hopefully I'm on commission here as I seem to be pushing the prices up with my ones _________________ Old owner of restored GB 063 .

Im not going to deny its a low offer but you paid 9k for it 2 months ago give or take and its a basket case.. so 1.5k per month isn't a bad increase..
To be fair you say it owes you 14k but I can't see it myself and despite telling me you've been offered 17.5k by landrover for it, I keep hearing you've offered it to other people for less!.
I told you I was looking for another restoration and given the state it was in when I saw it 18 months ago I think that was a fair offer, without wanting to be insulting or vulgar you have quite literally polished a turd and now want to double your money on it in under two months, well best of luck but I suspect you're going to be waiting a long wile for a buyer.
I did think long and hard before replying but to be honest you nearly lost me the sale of 165 twice because you couldn't help yourself slating my price or vehicle on almost every thread it was posted on so I guess I'm entitled to share my opinion here. _________________ im allways in the muck... its just the depth that differs..

Thanks for letting us know about the sale price. It's very timely, as I will be building a thread on the values of 50ths. I will be doing this for insurance purposes (please see the Adrian Flux thread [sticky] on General Chat, right at the top). I have James' assurance that it will be a sticky, so that we can see current asking prices. _________________ Barry
