I have recently had the sensor for the alarm, situated just by the hinges in the bonnet, replaced. Previously when the alarm was set from the fob no indicators flashed but I would get two very loud and annoying beeps. Upon disarming the alarm the indicators would flash. Now that the new switch has been put in place there is no audible sound, but the indicators flash for both the arming and disarming. Does this make any sense to anyone and is it possible to change the settings at all for an audible indication of alarm activation.???????????? |

Hi bob,
The indicators should flash once on arming and 3 times on disarming. The beeps happen if there is a problem, like a door is open. I guess in your case because the bonnet sensor was not working it used to beep so now its fixed it wont.
There may be a setting to make it beep but you would have to have it pluged in to the computer to see what they can do
Best regards
James

James, the alarm arms with 3 flashes and disarms with 1 flash.
I think you got it the wrong way round in your post dated Mon 19 Dec
2005 ? Although my vehicle does not now flash on disarming the alarm for some reason, probably that under bonnet sensor ? |

Hi
I had problems with my alarm ECU and also needed an other key fob - only had one - spoke with the guy at www.remotekey.co.uk - sorry can't remember his name but very helpful indeed - he operates from his home in the west midlands so visited him on my way to the LRM show at Gaydon last April - pluged in his PC adjusted it all gave me a new emergency access code, supplied and set up new fob - fantastic ! I think the fob was £50 and the rest an other £10 - you can find him at most of the LR shows in the summer - or his add in LRO - far cheaper than the main dealer and much better service !
Try him.
Cheers
Siom
