Finally purchased my first 50th GB091. I found the car via this site so many thanks for being here. I purchased GB 091 from Russell. Standard car with only 17,000 miles on clock, leccy windows, central locking, tinted rear windows, A bar and spots. No further mods done and I need to decide how best to spend my works bonus before fuel swallows it up.

My name is George, and I live 20 miles south of sunny Glasgow. this is my first defender, albeit I have owned a discovery and more recently a range rover.

I live in the country and hopefully that coupled with our dreary weather will mean that my new toy will come into its own and I should make it into my work no matter the conditions.

My first jobs this week are to upgrade the ICE and then upgrade the interior with the Croytec gear which I have already ordered. I have also ordered a new fuel guage after reading the thread from owners with a similar problem.

hi,

Glad the site helped you out.

A great first Defender to have, no others will live up to it though.

I'm sure we can help you spend the works bonus on lots of things. A good thing to start with is to have it re-geared. Will make it alot nicer to drive. Ashcroft transmitions do it.

Good choice with the croytec stuff, John is also a Defender 50th owner.
Want some shiny pedals to go with the croytec stuff :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4586325751&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 . Dont bid on them though, cantact me direct if you want some.

Best regards

James
