My petrol gauge is not stable, it goes up and down with the movement of the petrol. And because there is no fuell light its difficult to see how much fuell there is left. I now tank after about 340 km to be sure.
Is this normal like my dealer says. My old 101FC and S2a hve very stable gauges
Excuse me for my englisch

Hello Fred,
Some other owners have found the same problem. A new gauge will help keep it more stable, they are about £35 Part number: AMR 5723. It will still move a bit going round corners but slowly.
Best regards

Yep, as the boss says, they all do that sir..!
More of an indicator than a gauge. Gauge sounds foar too technical and accurate..!
There is a thread on here about it and someone replaced theirs with a newer version that appears to be better damped. And if memory serves, Chris suggested fitting a smoothing capacitor to cure the problem although I don't know whether he's tried it yet with all the other mods he's had on.
What I normally do is keep an eye on the trip mileage and when it gets to 145 it's time for another 45 litres... I really must stop doing the traffic light Grand Prix but it's just so much fun... |

I hate to admit this but there was a white Peugot 206 sat at the side of me at the lights at the start of a derestricted dual carriageway the other morning whilst going into work.
The best of it was this guy was sat there revving his engine and creeping forward.
Unfortunately I found my hand pulling the gear lever back into first...
Needles to say he eventually caught up...
And I wonder why I only get 15mpg... |

Hi Fred,
As James says - just replace the gauge.
Mine was waving around - I replced it, and it's now much better.
It's an easy job too.
