To see 'The Dukes Of Hazzard' (after being down Gaping Gill early this morning)

All I can say is..........
It's differant.......

I was quite prepared to be disappointed by it after reading various reviews & hearing the originals casts view on it.
However, it's got to be taken as a whole & I think it works, even allowing for my not being too sure about the 3 main younger cast members.

If you don't know by now;
Jessica Simpson; Daisy Duke
Johnny Knoxville; Luke Duke
Seann William Scott; Bo Duke
Wille Nelson; Uncle Jessie
Burt Reynolds; Boss Hogg
Linda Carter; Pauline (yes!, the Wonder Woman)
David Koechner; Cooter

It has been questioned why they're running a 36year old car, but in the early sequences it is seen to be fairly tatty & rusty (no flag, or decals) & possibly in keeping with hot-rodding farm-boys

Obviously the plot is inconsequential (as per the TV series), it was a 'rollicking good ride'.
Jessie was a wise-cracking comedian though, & it doesn't work

On second thoughts, go & see it!!

Just don't expect the 'innocence' of the TV series.

It does make you smile & really, really, want a 69 Charger

Oh, & the doors opened in the General early on in the film.
The climbing in is explained by Cooter later.

Wait for Knoxvilles 'Safe ride' & the guy with the Armadillo hat Laughing

And STOP for the outakes & see the drivers get it wrong whilst jumping. OUCH!!!

hi at Billing i was next to one of the 69 chagers with open doors.
hmmm
what a sack of sh*t....
im sorry but i disagree with you with regard to the charger there blummin auwfull.
they run rough start like a bad landrover on 3 cylinders.
and talk about wide...they make a Lambo look small!
they don't handel either....
i would however prefer a 500gt shelby Mustag...now thats a car and a half.
Handles goes fast, looks the biz and isn't the size of the titanic.
anyway you can't please all.
i'm glad they have released the duke film anyway and im glad you enjoyed it ...i will at some point try and get to see it.

I take it the Charger was the General replica belonging to (or borrowed) by Sureterm insurance ? (I didn't get down this year)

Sack of.... ??
It's the cousin of the fastest car on the NASCAR circuit at the time, the Plymouth Superbird
Magnum or ('Hemi'- the 'Hens Teeth' models) powered Chargers were reputedly good for 150mph, 0-60 in under 6 seconds & a 12.5 quarter.

Will this version of a GT500 do for you?
