Hi All,

I need to change the flasher relay - which means removing or at least moving the centre console - yippeee....

I could do with some advice - the Gear Shifter Trim - I've seen the link that says to push it forward and lift the leading edge - tried that and seems to be quite firmly still in place.

The trim looks like it would snap as soon as look at it!

Do any of you have any techniques for removing it?

Thanks

Held in place by 2 small plastic "pins" approx 2mm dia & 2 mm long at forward end about 55mm apart, at rear a plastic tongue about 27mm long 2 mm deep. I have found the easiest method is to use a small blade screw driver in the centre at the rear end, between trim and gear selector panel and pull back gently, this will allow tongue to release upwards. Not sure how to attach photos but if you pm me with your cell number or email address I will send you photos of trim removed.

Hi, thanks for that - your description was spot on.

It just popped off fine Smile

As a confession though, I changed the relay thinking that the relay wasn't loud enough and causing the trailer light to flash when there is not a trailer fitted - changed it and it is just the same!!

I was hoping to be able to hear the indicator clicking - ho hum.

Not a total loss, as one of the bulbs for the gear shifter indicator didn't work so replaced both of them.

I need to think again about why the trailer indicator flashes Smile

Make sure you put 3w bulbs in, not 5w, or you'll melt the strip that indicates which position the lever is in.
