does anyone know anything about this one?
Saw GB 317 badge had been for sale of eBay in a previous thread - but looks back in place.
Reproductions from Gavin look different to this one. |

Hi All
Just wanted to say thanks to all on this site for creating such a brilliant resource - it has been unbelievably useful! I purchased GB317 on Tuesday - my dad owned a 50th (S19 DEF) when I was about 15 and I never forgave him for selling it, so 14 years on I've managed to get my own (finally) - needs a bit of attention and I've got a few plans for it already, Mark Adams was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
Cheers

congratulations... i was tempted to buy it myself.
I'd remove the rear chequer plate from the cross member if i were you; it only promotes rust. (looks like the idea is a kick plate for getting in and out the back). its not necessary.
Hopefully the paint behind is still good - but not a massive job to sand back and redo it its a bit flaky. |

Congratulations on your purchase! You dad will want to borrow yours now!
Was your dads GB199? Still around on the forum
Mark Adams is indeed a very knowledgeable chap and very helpful.
Have fun, _________________ James

Thanks, yeah it was GB 199, I was tempted to buy it back as I saw it was for sale recently, but the timing wasn't quite right.
Cheers for the heads up on the rear chequer plate, I'll have a look. |
