I realise I may have my membership to this forum cancelled for this....
But my exhaust is too loud! It is all good driving around town, but on country roads it is more than wearisome.
I'm not sure what make it is, but it is stainless and certainly after market.
The front part to the Cats is standard I believe.
How difficult is it to get a standard exhaust and what are they like? Do they restrict the engine any?
I've Googled around a bit, but cannot see clearly one available.
Cheers. |

I know what you mean- full sports exhaust is too loud on motorway and original is expensive and very quiet
I’m guessing you have a Double S SS exhaust on there- 1 centre silencer?
Or have you got a straight through with a single small silencer at the end (very loud)?
I have combined in the past:
1) TD5 90 centre sports silencer from Devon 4x4 (they are the ones that do it)
2) Fit a rear section also with a sports silencer- several people do these
The above works a treat and I have done it 3 times on 50th, TD5 and Discos
Don’t fit a ‘cherry bomb’ centre section- it’s still loud- I’ve tried it |

Many thanks both,
I'll get them on order - no point in having a fabulous car with such an annoying habit |

just climbed under the 50th as I thought i'd like to remove the centre silencer to make it a bit noisier as per the part numbers above...
And its already got one; so I can confirm the sound is not too loud (especially as I was thinking of going louder!)
