Hi, Would anyone know the operating power and amperage of the in tank pump (ESR3928) fitted to these vehicles, also is a different pump required for a 4.6 conversion. Thanks in advance.

Inquisitive nature, manual states 3 amp which is not the reading I obtained. Cannot find, as yet, any information on pump specs to confirm which is correct reading.

STD pump will feed a well modified 4.6 without trouble.

Fuse on the circuit diagram is 15A, which would be more like what Iíd expect.

Thanks for your reply, seen the 2 fuses associated with the Fuel Pump are shown as 20 amp and 15 amp which makes sense. I would not expect a current draw of any where near 15 amp except maybe a spike towards that figure on start up, which is why I asked if there was a power rating or a true running amperage available as the 3 amp printed in the manual seems low.

Yeah, 3 amps is low for a fuel pump.

Being honest, this wouldnít be the first technical inaccuracy that Iíve found in the 50th electrical info!

For such a small production run, perhaps the greatest care was not given to the accuracy of the manuals?

Good luck with your 4.6 - Iím doing exactly the same to mine!

Fuel Pump OE is on its way from UK as I write along with other parts required so hopefully back on the road in 2 weeks time customs and freight companies allowing. I will take a resistance reading once the new pump is unwrapped both at the pump and from the pump side of the inertia switch, also a running amperage on initial start up and running just for future reference, these I shall post for anyone else to look at.
4.6 has not disappointed yet, well not until Fuel Pump failure at least, had heads taken to Stage 1 and fitted Torque Plus cam from RPi along with Piper valves springs and guides. Seems ideally suited now to roads and tracks in my part of the world.
