Hi all, looking to change the engine service items on my newly acquired toy.

The kits for the 4.0 on offer seem to offer the Disco air filter, which seems different to our ones - do any of you know the part number for the correct one - is it the same as any other Defender air filter.

Also, is there a preference for spark plugs, or just fit the standard RN11YC as told in the manual.

Cheers.

Hi, I have run the equivalent RN11YC plugs - NGK BPR5ES for the last 6 years with no issues, the Air Filter as far as I am aware is the same as a Classic Range Rover P.No. RTC4638 or RYCO A1313. Hope this helps

E-2350 is a K&N upgrade.

Hi I have recently replaced the air filter p/n RTC4683 using Paddock Spares LE-46 which cost 3.17 + Vat. I don't think you will notice a real difference using K&N to be honest and they are 10x the price. I also changed plugs using NGK BPR6ES (4824) which I have been using for circa 3 years without any problems. I mainly run on LPG. I source the plugs from EBAY and normally pay about 1.80 per plug buying 10 at a time.
Cheers Craig

Thanks all.

I went for just the standard plugs as per handbook - number above - and standard air filter pn RTC4683.

All fine - I did notice that the plugs were pretty stuck in, but a bit of WD40 allowed them out a treat.

Sump plug and washer pn UAM2857L used for oil change.

I was going to replace the HT leads but the previous owner had fitted Magnecor leads so I reckoned they should be good for a while yet.

Top tip on changing Diff Oil - make sure you are a flat surface... wish I had thought of it BEFORE I took the fill plug out....
