It isn't a GB Peter - it's Japanese. It's 178 not GB178, so it isn't D4 BAX.

No issues as they are basically the same as the UK ones. In fact they tend to be in better condition having spent their life on non-salted roads. They are cheaper to buy than UK ones.

Did this one go through the recent auction in Norfolk?

I agree, the ex-Japan 50ths are invariably much better condition than the unrestored UK equivalent and are usually excellent value, there are a couple of specification differences, Boost wheels instead of Freestyle, black wheel arches, chequer plate not standard, no alloy window winders or transfer case lever.

There have been quite a few brought over in the last few years, although the way the exchange rate is just no there aren't too many coming over at the moment; so the recent arrivals are pretty much the best value for money 50ths you can buy just now.

The one that went through the last Anglia auction was Black (really clean car and at 15k good value) so it isn't that one, but might be one that's been through before, they seem to sell a couple of 50ths each year, most ex Japan.

There was a nice red one went through an auction recently (I thought it was Anglia but may be wrong) and fetched just shy of £18k with premium.

A blue one at the same auction didn't sell so may be this one as it's priced around the same mark. Looks OK and I'm sure Paul could sort out the new buyer with a new console plate. Rolling Eyes

Oops! Just noticed that the red one was auctioned at Errol in Central Scotland, not Anglia, and had been on Ebay before or after the auction.

Iv’e been tracking the auctions lately and as NAS90 states, they’re sticking with in the auction system as “unsold” for a while. Because of the poor exchange rate they’re just not getting a nibble.
