The above vehicle to me looks like it could be a Jap import.
The window winders do come up on eBay now and again, as they were not ready when 50th's left the factory the dealers were supposed to fit them, but many didn't get them! _________________ James

Almost certainly Ex Japan with the 2" receiver style NAS rear step, that's what they came with as standard. Carpets and interior along with side steps replaced with later style XS items.
Some on this forum reckon ex Japan are worth less than GB cars, but in my experience they are always in much better condition than unrestored UK cars having lived in a better climate. With the exchange rate as it is now and average sales prices in Japan, this one is about the right money for an repatriated Japanese 50th Defender
A quick look at the market for GB 50ths and it seems prices are starting at £18K for a restoration project and going up to £42K for a restored example now.
A few for sale at present, but wide range of prices being asked |

Good spot Ian, but I didn't think they were available in Atlantis Blue in Japan - only white or red ? _________________ Cheers,

Mine is ex Japan and is Atlantis Blue from the factory; I think white was the most common colour but there were a few colours available |

Before Hairy Dan's observation, I had emailed them for the GB number. I had an email back saying it was '225'. However, since we can assume that Hairy Dan is correct, and the registered date on the ad says June 2015, then I suppose we can safely assume it's a Jap one. _________________ Barry

The build number is 225, and it is a Japanese import.
I emailed the seller for info. The japan sticker was the clue!
worth keeping an eye on it for our insurance list. |
