Just seen GB015 has hit the market in the normal places.
I'm not sure how it hasn't been a write off but this was bought from a scrap yard and rebuilt. See http://www.defender50th.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=530&highlight=015
The rear plaque is missing as someone stole it after the guy had bought it but before he collected it. The plaque then came up on ebay but wasn't reunited with the owner _________________ James

Quite expensive for something missing original parts; and a chequred past |
Have to say I love this statement, if you look at all the "restored" 50th's none of them have very many original parts left on them and they are twice the price of this one _________________ GB 328

The discussion on 'original' 50ths has come up many times in the past. As far as I am aware, there isn't a solitary 50th that is truly original. Some come close. But can anyone find a truly original Morris Minor, or MGB GT? Excluding my bespoke badge, I have changed four things on my 50th, as I think that they are items Land Rover made a mistake on when they designed the 50th. Personally, an original 50th doesn't appeal to me at all, it's too bland. But we all like different things, otherwise it would be a boring world indeed.
I have to say that I don't think GB015 is expensive, given that the average is currently £24,000, and especially so when you see what ordinary Defender 90s are going for. There are some huge prices out there!

I see Nene are pushing at the £100,000 barrier

Hi new to this forum.
Does anyone know how this car was damaged? obviously its been over but interested in the circumstances.
I am trying to buy a 50th for a friend abroad and have looked at 015 and it looks in good shape.
IT IS NOT on any damage register.
Thank you for any help you can offer.
ps guess it would be impossible to buy a rear special edition blank plate and get it stamped with 015? _________________ GB260
