I believe the top one is GB046 recently for sale on here. Going by location and mileage. _________________ Rich

Library photo is interesting as it seems to show a green High Plains Engineering Ltd sticker on the side. I've got the same sticker on GB278. I searched them but they don't seem to exist any more. |

That's an old pic of your 50th. Romadag2004 didn't remember the GB number right but he is one of the previous owners. _________________ James

Thanks for clearing that up. Wonder why the V8 decals were temporarily absent when the photo was taken? GB278 is going great and just turned 89,000 miles.
Whatever happened to High Plains Engineering?
I'll be contacting Anglia Car Auctions with an invoice for using my 50th image without permission. Thanks. |

The white one is mine, I have my eyes on something else with a V8 engine and so one of the 50ths needs to find a new home to fund the new purchase.
I imported it myself from Japan, been in the UK for around 5 years, 72,000miles (115,000kms) with full service history from new, Main Dealer Japan & UK and well known Norfolk specialists JSF. It's a clean Defender inside and out and has been garage kept since being in the UK, a little corrosion starting on the rear capping, but otherwise really clean.
I've set what I think is a very sensible reserve as I want it going to a new home to fund the new toy. |

For anyone who follows sales prices;
The GB Spec Car didn't make its reserve and is still available for anyone interested, inquire with the Auctioneer. It is not a perfect car, but is nice enough with solid chassis, body & mechanicals as far as I can tell, needs a little tidying then will be a good one.
My White one made GBP 15,500 at the hammer with the Buyer's premium it will be GBP 16,430 |
