I purchased this system earlier this week & on arrival the tail pipe fits perfectly but the back box is 3-4 inches too long - before we start to cut this has anyone any experience of the system.

Many thanks for that info - my VIN is as you described - possibly the 31 I see on the Japanese service records refer to the model number not the engine.
